Shared on Fri, 08/03/2007 - 15:26Week 6 didn't get started till this afternoon. :-( Last week was hell here but this week was hell on fire :lol: So needless to say a second week where I wasn't able to bring the piece to color, AARRGGG! Oh well my goal here is simply to create "something: new each week and Im afraid this week a pencil rough will have to be it again. Like the other pieces not yet colored I am committed to finishing them all so dont give up on them or me, and keep checking back :-)
This week, its back to a hero. Commander Miranda Keyes. Daughter of Captain Jacob Keyes. I learned allot that I didn't know about this character while doing research. Im guessing that there is allot more we will learn about this woman in Halo 3 and why she is a "Reclaimer". I suspect that her and master Chief have more in common then we know and that Cortana and her also share some heritage. My inspiration for doing this piece of Keyes came from the segment in the recent E3 Halo 3 trailer, where we get to see Commander Keyes spinning around like a Hong Kong action flick and getting ready to pop some caps into a few Brutes. I have posted a screen capture from the segment Im talking about. For more on this kick ass Commander see here.

This is definitely not a finished piece. Its a bit rushed and some of the details haven't been thought out yet. As well, I definitely didn't capture a great likeness to her character so that will be something I spend more time on when I finish this one. That having being said, I still encourage comments and crits and of course any suggestions for next week. :-) With this posting Halo 3 is now officially only 7 weeks away from launch!!! WWWOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTT!!!!!! :lol: Thanks everyone and I'll see ya back here next week for week #7, with a new piece and hopefully one or more of the previous pencil pieces brought to color.

Inspiration and refrence.
