I debated for awhile, tried some other solutions but after receiving several referrals about these, I picked up a pair and WOW!!!  I finally have a good Halo 3 solution and won't wake up everyone else now when playing!

My questions are: How much? And can you hear people in battle any better? My only beef is I want to hear individuals better when I'm in a big group of people. I know you guys, and how you're all about your surround sound...that I don't care about so much, just hearing people when they are talking to me.

They are pricey - $100 from buy.com (fee shipping). But I have gone through 2 different $30 sets that I sold because I didn't like them, and I know I will play H3 enough to rationalize the cost. You can certainly tweak all the sounds, and it even mentions tweaking it to hear individuals better, but other people who have played with them for awhile could give you a better idea on that. With the limited experience I had, I actually heard the voices in campaign much better obviously than through the TV. I might try multiplayer out tonight so I can mess with the settings and see what that is like. If you don't care for all the sound stuff than you might be better off sticking with what you have. It is pretty nice to actually be able to hear the game the way they designed it, with all the sounds coming from.

I have been debating about getting these, $100 isn't too bad. I will proably pick some up soon. Good to hear yet another good review!
