I really enjoyed exploring the new maps and getting a feel for what to expect on 9/25. Here are some specific things that I hope are tweaked. What about you? Are there things you wish would change for the final version?
1. Dedicated servers - While the extended wait for games to start in the lobby was due to limited number of players, this is still something that needs to be addressed. I played plenty of games with lag and have no hopes that this will be resolved by September unless they make a move to dedicated servers.
2. Weapons - The magnum pistol is more powerful like in Halo: CE, but it is painfully slow between each shot. I like the idea of the sword being limited in usage now. I am not crazy about all of the weapons, but I like the new ones and having more options.
3. Matchmaking - This is more of an Xbox Live issue, but there needs to be a quicker way to send a voice message to friends. Too many screens and clicks, it takes too long you can be annihilated several times over if you are in the middle of a game.
4. Custom options - While the occasional game with 300% speed is fun, I hope the speed and gravity options are not abused to the point where those are the only games played. I like the idea of customization, just not overkill.
It will be interesting to see all of the polish and options in the final game. I will be in the Magic Kingdom on 9/25, but my copy will be waiting on me when I get back!
