Have you downloaded Track and Field yet? Ahhhh, memories.

I remember heading over to the arcade with my comb in my pocket, pulling it out and opening up a can on that arcade machine. Does anyone else remember this technique? Using the comb in between the 2 buttons with your hand and than absolutely going bananas on the buttons which would transfer down the comb producing a superhuman rapidfire button attack. Awesome.

So, while you can't reproduce this without some crazy third party joystick add-on that probably does not exist, you can hold the controller sideways and get pretty good results with the left stick then tapping the button to jump or throw. If you used the d-pad or the red/blue button combo and get good results, let me know. I couldn't do as good with those.

On your mark...

Kysr - that's right! I completely forgot about that until you said it. I went through so many of those joysticks. And I remember the orange paint that were dotted lines around the joystick would wear off. Too funny!

We used a spoon on the NES, to slide back and forth between the buttons.

There was a similar game for the atari 2600 where you rapidly jammed the joystick back and forth to make the character run - the black rubber part eventually came off of ours.
