I know that over that last several years many of your individual rights have been trampled under and you have to pay substantially more in taxes to do what you have every legal right to do. Why individual restaurants and shops can't choose for themselves whether or not to have or allow smoking areas is beyond me. Let the consumer decide if they want to frequent such establishments or not. Of course the government gets away with this because as a non smoker many of us simply say "Well it doesn't effect me so I don't really care". Of course one day they'll come for you're particular niche habit and then all of the sudden you will.
But I digress.
In light of so much of the negative press and the growing animosity towards smokers I might humbly suggest you do 1 thing....
STOP THROWING YOUR !@##$ing CIGERETTE BUTTS OUT OF THE !@%#@$ing WINDOW!!!
I mean really. I would hope that these same people wouldn't throw their McDonald's bag out of the sunroof to smack my windshield as we drove down the highway. Why do I have to sweep this crap off of my sidewalk? Just 'cause it's small doesn't mean it's any less trash. Throw your trash in the proper trash receptacles. Maybe you'd get a little less indifference toward your rights if we weren't having to clean up after you all the time. I've never sat in a car that didn't have an ash tray and if there wasn't you could certainly create one. If you think you're saving some sort of value in your car by keeping the ashy crap and smell out of your car, trust me, you're not. When a non smoker gets into your car, no matter how well it's been cleaned, we can still tell that a smoker owned it. So, put your butts out in your own space and keep your trash to yourself.
