Beep......Beep......Beep.....

Last night was one of the best nights of TV I've had in a long time. 24 finally returned for a new season and it's off to as good a start as I could have hoped for. I can hardly wait to get another 2 hour fix tonight with the promise of the season's first surprise moment coming. There's a slew of new characters for this year but they have brought back a couple of people from previous seasons. I won't say anything more than that in case you missed the first one. I will say that if you didn't watch the 24 TV movie from a few weeks ago, it's worth going back to watch as a means of fully understanding the context of this season.

I am curious to see how the public will take to this season of 24. The show first came out right after 9/11 (though it had obviously been in production and on the schedule for some time before). I wonder with a new administration coming in and hence a possible new tone being set for the country if the public will still want to see a show about terrorists and doing what it takes to get the job done. In fact that seems to be one of the themes going forward this year. The show has never been the highest rated show but has a very loyal following. It'll be interesting to see how it plays for the new season. Of course the show is in it's seventh season so any ratings drop could just as easily be from people tiring of the show. Not me. I think it's going to be even better than the last couple. The new cast and setting has already got me excited, but of course, I am a 24 fanboi. :D
