Shared on Fri, 09/28/2007 - 14:34I've gotten to the point where I can't hardly fit my wallet in my pocket anymore. I took a look today and found the following:
Debit Card
Health Insurance Card
Car Insurance Card
2 Different Video Store Cards
Lowes Card
Discover Card
2 Different Grocery Discount Cards
Gamestop Card
Shell Card
Staples Card
Sam's Club Card
Best Buy Rewards Card
3 Different Meal Club Cards
Drivers License
Some cash
A few reciepts and a couple of business cards
There has to be a way to eliminate all this. Granted a few of those cards aren't technically mine. Some are for work. Still, haven't we gotten to the place where this information could be condensed into one identity card or something? I know there's probably too much of a risk for identity fraud by doing that but I'm not sure it's any worse then what's happening in today's world anyway. Maybe we could go to a retinal scan/password system to help combat that at the registers. Also, how about not having to use a store's stupid card to get that .50 off of a box of Apple Jacks. Is that really necessary? Why not just give the discount to everyone? One day I'd like to be able to sit down and not feel like I'm sitting on a copy of War and Peace. And don't suggest key fob tags. The only thing I hate worse then a cluttered wallet is a cluttered key ring. I have too many keys to keep track of as it is.
