Should the citizens of our country be satisfied with what is generally considered a good situation in the way of standard of living, health care, etc.? Or should we be constantly striving to be the best in all areas, no matter the means needed to bring about the improvements? Summary: Is pretty good, good enough or do we break down the barriers to be the best? Discuss.

This is a much better question than the previous one. I agree that we should always strive to better ourselves or we will end up like the other powers throughout history (romans, greeks, et al). If you want to affect change in this country, get out and vote, raise you voice (because you have the freedom to do it), start pettitions, change laws. These are the means you have at your disposal. These are the freedoms you have been given so use them. Good post though.
