Ladies and gentlemen, I give you  http://www.theeca.com/

Are we really that downtrodden?  Have we been oppressed  so long that we need lobbyists to stand up for our rights?  I don't particularly recall ever having been separated from non-gamers for voting purposes, or even treated that badly in any store, except one down by the mall that strikes me as a tad claustrophobic.   There's something else going on here.  It is interesting to me that people sometimes interpret things like the defacto ban of Manhunt2 as somehow a violation of their rights.

"On behalf of the gaming community, the ECA lobbies legislators directly as well as launching grassroots digital initiatives to preserve our rights as gamers."  And as gamers, we have rights that others don't?  Now the real money question.  Why do we even need an ECA, when we already have VGVN? http://www.videogamevoters.org/

I can't speak for the rest of the gaming community,   I belong to VGVN.   ECA shall not recieve my dollars.   I don't have the answer, but as much as I love gaming, I'm inclined to think more lobbyists isn't the answer.

Lol - I just interviewed Hal Halpin of theeca...As soon as I get around to it I'm going to get it posted on the site. He's actually a really nice guy - I met him earlier this year.
