I've waited two years to find a good reason to get one of those things, but my wife found one for me. Two years of enviously eyeing the 360s of others and living vicariously through their tales of online shootouts have come to an end. At first, I didn't know what to do. There are so many great games, that I might have gone overboard with my initial purchases. Besides Forza 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, which came with the console, here are the games I've purchased in the past week:
The Orange Box
Call of Duty 4
Guitar Hero 2
Guitar Hero 3
Also, one of my coworkers gave me a fantastic gift I will most likely have to repay in large quantities of beer:
Sweet.
I also bit the bullet and got one of the wireless network adapters. I live on a university campus, and I constantly had problems trying to get the school's network to recognize my old Xbox. I decided the $100 was worth avoiding the hassle. I've only had it for three days, but it works like a charm. Installation consisted of plugging it in and turning my 360 on. Find your network, enter your security key and you're done.
I'm psyched about being able to play online again. All friend requests are welcome, especially if you play any of the above, or Crimson Skies (I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it.)
