Shared on Fri, 09/09/2011 - 06:52Had a good time SC2 last night. Thursday is my "work buddies" SC2 night. Played some 2v2 and some 3v3 and we did pretty good. To be fair we have a very skilled player in our group of 3. That works for us and against us. Obviously for us because he can carry the load lol and he lets us know what we should be building and where everything is on the map by pinging the map. Against us because we get put up against some teams that out talent us collectively but it's all good fun.
Tonight ImMrPete (iHearPudding #603) has thrown together a 2old2play Starcraft 2 night. It's going down at 9:30 pm Eastern. You can add me as well Tukker #593. Post your SC2 gamer info in the PC Gaming thread for the games tonight and we'll get everyone in having a good time!
This weekend is the GSL Finals. The GSL is a Korean SC league. On Saturday is the GSL All Star matches and on Sunday is the Grand Finals. You can follow this stuff on gomtv.net as well you can follow the Team Liquid thread teamliquid.net
I was supposed to be watching this at a Barcraft on Sunday but my buddies have bailed on me so I won't be going. Barcraft is a phenomenon where bars actually setting up for Starcraft viewing (like a football game or a hockey game). They are able to bring in 100's of nerds on days when they can't normally drum up much service (when 80's night just isn't bringing them in any more lol). The one I was going to attend is at the Clock Tower Pub in Ottawa, Ontario and the last one they hosted they had so many people show up they had to turn people away! You can check out Barcraft locations at reddit.com see if one is happening around you. It is supposed to be a blast!
Lastly here is a match between my favorite foreign player (in Starcraft anyone NOT Korean is considered foreign). TL.Huk vs. EG.Idra. Huk is now on EG with Idra but these guys hate each other lol Idra is a very high level Zerg player who has played in Korea for years. Huk is new to the SC scene with SC2 is a very strong (Canadian! w00t) Protoss player who has been tearing it up. Huk has recently been spending time in Korea as well.
I watched EG.Idra's stream last weekened.....he had OVER 20,000 people watching his stream. Basically watching this guy practice and ladder. It was cool - he talked while gaming about what he though was happening and he would answer questions from the chat and stuff....I just can't believe 20,000 of us were watching him basically practice lol
