This is a weird topic but it's real lol I feel it a bit. I've been a gamer for a long time so I've climbed ladders and dropped down ladders. But there is something different about the SC2 ladder - where I get nervous before games a bit and then I worry about my ladder status lol I suppose it is because it is a 1v1 thing. Most of the other gaming ladders I've been a part of have been MP FPS games - where you play on a team. But the 1v1 - all the pressure and results are a direct result of your play. I notice some people on my friends list have NEVER played 1v1's which really at its core is what SC2 excels at.
I've seen a few pros and Day 9 and others say this but it's something I have to tell remind myself. The ladder does not reflect how good you are - instead it should be used to reflect growth and improvment. Yeah I'm in Bronze league and yes most people in leagues beyond bronze would woop me - but every game I play win or lose I'm trying to make sure I'm progressing and learning. That's how you should use the ladder - put the ego aside and learn and have fun with it.
This is a clip from a documentary that is coming out called Star Nation check out www.starnationmovie.com for clips and info. In this clip White-Ra says "More GG.....more skill". That is you can't get better without losing - it's a necessity.
