Shared on Mon, 05/20/2013 - 09:02packing a whole house for moving just takes time. taping boxes, putting stuff in boxes, moving boxes to garage to get ready for the time when i'll put them on the truck. wrapping things in shrink wrap. in bubble wrap. taking things apart, making sure screws, bolts and fasteners are tagged and stored in a box that you won't forget about when you unpack and have to put it all back together... sigh...
It just takes time, which is why starting earl is important. but starting early means i'm in a bit of a state of limbo between packed and unpacked. I won't be fully packed until friday when i go pick up my truck. that means I have to work in a house that has only a couple seating surfaces left and fewer and fewer lamps that actually work.
I'll get to experience this exact same thing on the other side when I start to unpack - that can sometimes take longer.
I understand now why people pay other people to do this for them all in one day.
