Reach gave me the reach-around

Now that the Reach beta has ended I found myself wanting some more of the same action. So I thought, why not throw in some Halo 3 and give it a go. Well, i should have sucked that idea right out of my head and tossed it in the trash because I was getting my ass handed to me left and right. First off, I've only played like 70 or so matches in Halo 3. So my skills aren't exactly what you would call "awesome" or "beast". More like "total shit" or "get out of my game you fucking noob" is more the case. I think I would have done considereably better had I not constantly thought I was playing Reach. I kept trying to melee some jackass with the RB only to sit and reload right in his face. Can you imagine what that prick probably thought? .....

I'm shooting the piss out of some random and when he finally turns around to accept his chin buster i'm doing nothing but showing him how to reload while dry humping him eractically. *SMACK* I'm dead. And sadly all I could think was "Why the fuck didn't he die? Why the hell was I reloading." DuUUuuuhhh.....

I also kept trying to sprint which really made the game seem slow. I loved having that burst of speed in the Reach beta. While playing Halo 3 I felt like masterchief was hobbling around on one broken leg in a room filled with syrup. It felt so damn SLOOOOOOooooowwww.

Well after a while of getting my ass handed to me and more tea bags in my face than a porn star I finally started to get my shit together. But of course I had to show at least 6 more people how to reload.

After the match was over someone on my FL asked me "What the hell happened?"

"What? I had like 6 kills"

"yeah and everyone else had double digits. so wtf?"

"it's not quantity, it's quality."

Then he proceeded to tell me I should have been playing the Reach beta with 'Reacon' controls. This way the stick layout was the same. Yeah, I guess that makes some sense but, I like the new button config. I like having the melee button right next to my itchy trigger finger. OOOOHHH and that reminds me, I kept running over weapons and trying to pick them up using 'X'. Trust me that shit didn't work either. Imagine some jackass that kept walking over and over a gun and not doing anything. Yep....that was me.

So yeah....the beta definitely busted my balls when it came to picking up Halo 3 again. I really need to get into the swing of things again OR I could just say fuck it and wait for Patch #6 to come out on Gears 2.

Or I could just switch over to the dark side this weekend and play some Uncharted 2. But, I haven't played in a while so I'm sure there will be more t-bags headed my way. Well, I better go pick up some sugar.
