Mulling it over in my head I came up with some conclusions. First, I have never had love at first site, as I believe it is impossible to fall in love and stay with one person from just seeing them. Sure, I've seen women that I find attractive, but how can you match all the aspects of human need, which is needed to maintain a relationship, from just a look at another person?
Another thing that came to mind was how, if there is such a thing as love at first site, then there must be something to counteract it. Kinda the yin-yang equation. Since we know there is good in the world, that means we have something that has proved it, i.e., bad things. We know something tastes good only because we have tasted things that are bad. In other words, it's like a control in a science experiment, it is true because there is something that exists that proves it exists - which is it's opposite.
So - if there is love at first site, that means the fact it exists is because there is also hate at first site. So I started thinking about what proves hate at first site. I concluded that racism is hate at first site. Racism exists because we believe we see something in someone that is not pleasing to us, whether it's true or not. This goes along with all things that are related to love at first site, but counteract it; fear at first site, hatred at first site, anger at first site. Well, since I have felt some of these things, not just at a person, but at objects as well, I guess that proves that love at first site does exist, but its existence is not necessarily a benefit to society. Someone who is capable of love at first site is also capable of hate at first site.
That is a dilemma - if it's in you, can you control it? Can you over-ride it, only using it for good and not for evil? Is it a true emotion - if that's possible? What is a true emotion? Are true emotions only those that are positive? What is the purpose of negative emotions if it makes other miserable?
Maybe I'll figure it out, but right now I must win some M$ points...
