Way across the line........

Anyone that likes to read news about games these days knows that three of the best sites are Kotaku, Joystiq, and Destructoid. Lately one specific contributor to Destructoid has caught my attention, Jim Sterling. He seems to make it his mission to bash the living hell out of anything that has Sony written on it. Now I don't think there is anything wrong with pointing out the faults of Sony's shortcomings. I actually think this might be the best way to get it fixed. However, Jim goes to lengths that border on the edge of insanity when he writes his articles. Today he posted his thoughts on how he thought Prototype was a better game than Infamous and here are his reasons

1. Alex Mercer is not a Pussy.

2. Chain Length Fences.

3. Upgrades.

4. Prototype isnt spelled all stupid

5. Enemy Variety

6. The prototype comic has an awesome rapetrap story in it

7. Running up buildings>climbing up like a spastic monkey

8. Water

9 The head of Sucker Punch is a racist

10. Final Fantasy 13 will be on xbox 360

Ill also include some quotes from his article

"There you have it. I have sufficiently proven that Prototype is blatantly better than inFAMOUS, and if for some reason you still don't agree with me, you are obviously some sort of fucking retard who needs to go drown in a swamp."

"Contrasting the two games, it is very obvious that Prototype is better than inFAMOUS, and anybody who disagrees is a despicable moron who doesn't know anything about videogames and should probably just die. Read on to feel justified in agreeing with me, or to be shamed by just how incorrect and rubbish at life you truly are."

He obviously is trying like to stir up some fanboy reaction by doing this the way he did but I think he crossed the line in many ways. Justifying a game is better because of a rapetrap story or saying that someone is a racist is just crazy.

Buddylee, I read the article too and I thought it was VERY tongue-in-cheek. For example, the racist "point" was explained by the single word "Probably." I don't know what prompted Sterling to go off on this fanboy-baiting rant, but he does have a history of stirring the pot. That said, the rapetrap story was a little much for me, but when someone tries to be controversial, that line often gets crossed.

Well I guess we have another guy who, in order to feel better about his 360, feels the need to bash a Sony exclusive. All I have to say to him is "So go ahead, play Prototype"

I didn't know Jonah Falcon also went by Jim Sterling. I'm not a fanboy, but I bought Infamous today and really enjoy it.
