I finally went and did it.  We found a television just prior to Thanksgiving that was going on sale that I wanted.  I ended up getting a 61" Samsung DLP LED rear-projection set about 2 weeks ago.   Someone pricematched it (Sears) with 10% of the difference in prices and I couldn't pass it up.

It came in a week ago Tuesday, went to pick it up.  "It won't fit in the van."  @*)!#()  Fortunately a co-worker borrowed a family member's cargo van and we brought it home.  It is only about 70 pounds (compared to I think about 150 the 32" CRT weighs in at).

Next problem - find something to put it on.  So, it sat unopened (we left on Wednesday afternoon for Thanksgiving) while we went out of town.  We shopped for credenzas/media centers that could fit in a corner of our old house.  This is harder than it sounds.  After looking for three days, we finally found something that we liked at Pottery Barn.  Yeah, I'm not real thrilled to be in that demographic, but it was cash and carry as opposed to waiting 4-6 weeks for delivery.

Spent Monday night this week setting things up.  You know when you marry right when your wife looks at the new furniture and says "I don't think you'll get enough ventilation with that" and proceeds to take the back panel off the credenza with a Phillips head screwdriver.

Got HDMI cables for the PS3 on Tuesday and got to sit down with the Uncharted Demo last night for a little while (amidst Christmas Tree wrangling and couch re-arranging).

Looking forward to some quality time this weekend.

Sweeeet! We hung ours on the wall. Try getting a 65" biig fatty (rear projection), up to the the 3rd floor. We had to move the header so the dang thing would clear the stairs.

Nice TV. And the beauty of DLP's is that they never fade like plasma, all you need to do is replace the bulb every three to four years and it's like if it was brand new. I can't believe they didn't offer delivery? You should have gotten the Samsung TR-500X3B stand for the tv. I bought my Sony stand for my 61" tv and it comes with a strap that holds down the tv preventing it from ever collapsing forward. You will notice games will be harder to get used to. Your aiming zone just got alot bigger. I sucked horribly at h2 when I switched from my 32 to my 61" tv.
