Uncharted: Endgame

I finished Uncharted: Drake's Fortune on Saturday night.

I think all told, I got around 200 points/1000 in the scoring system.  Keep in mind I was playing on "Easy" which was challenging enough for me.  I could have struggled through "Normal", or ground my thumbs to a pulp on "Hard", perhaps, but I am playing to enjoy the game, not to frustrate myself endlessly.

The quality of the game was great.  The visuals are stunning.  You can include GREEN in a palette choice, folks!  Something besides grey and brown.  Amazing!

Various weapons that act very differently from another - about 15 or so weapons can be found in the game.  No weapon "upgrades", so a what-you-see-is-what-you-get.  Also, you can only carry 2 weapons at a time - one hand-gun and one "rifle", so no Doom 2 10 000 rounds with every single weapon.

Game play was pretty tight, various physical puzzles, nothing too challenging, though I did get stuck once and had to go look for answers.

Story line was interesting.  There is definitely a different direction about 2/3 of the way through the game, that I won't spoil here, which was hinted at in cut-scenes and other clues before the "big reveal".  I enjoyed the primary characters a lot, even the little in-game comments were funny and well within character.

Things I didn't like were wave after wave of enemies.  That's another reason I played on easy, as it seemed to be ridiculous after a while.  "Here come four more guys!"

I recommend this pop-corn action game, however there is no co-op online play, which would have been fun as Elena or Sullivan as your partner, but maybe in the sequel, which I hear is in the works.

8/10.

I noticed in the demo that the enemies just kept on coming and I did have very much ammo. I'll probably rent this one from Gamefly.

That's what I did. If you're into the run and gun style game-play a la Gears of War, you'd probably like it more than I did. The length was about right, I should say. Just as I was about to get tired of playing it, it started wrapping up.
