I took about a week or so (might have been closer to two weeks) away from the game. I had several newer games sitting here waiting for me to give them attention, plus a friend of mine finally got an X360 so we've been playing a lot of coop games and XBLA games.
Things are winding down now, I've beaten two of the three newer games I had and my friend has some long work weeks so I could finally get back to playing some Shadowrun. Lo and behold, they released title update 2.
For me, it took 3 days before I even got "notified" by Games for Windows - Live that there was an update for the title. After it finally downloaded, the game ceased functioning. It just brings up an error message about the Live components. As if that wasn't bad enough, it also broke my Halo 2 Vista install which had worked perfectly. Once Shadowrun started giving me the Live components error so did Halo 2 Vista.
I uninstalled and reinstalled both games. After reinstalling, Halo 2 Vista appears to be fixed. I can launch it and play.
Shadowrun still gives me the Live components error.
I'm dangerously close to saying "fuck it" and just packing the game up for good. I'd love to still play it. I'd love to chase around Tactica while he teleports all around me and kills me. However, it's become apparent that being able to play this game is now out of my control and no one knows when/if it will ever be fixed.
