Shared on Tue, 08/07/2007 - 16:02After my father passed, he left me his Colt 1991 Series 80 .45 ACP handgun which he prized and took great care of. He even added a dove tail and a sturdier trigger than the original stock one.
Since his passing, I've continued to take care of it, but, I'm nowhere near the same level of enthusiast he was. For me, it's just a piece of heavy hardware that never gets used and causes consternation between my wife and myself. Call me silly but while I love to shoot virtual guns in virtual worlds, shooting the real thing doesn't hold the appeal it used to several years ago when my father was alive.
So I've decided to start up an auction on Gunbroker.com tonight to try to sell it. I know some folk here at 2o2p are collectors and enthusiasts, so I wanted to give a heads up. I won't have the auction up until a bit later tonite when I can update my credit card info (my wife currently has the card so I can't update it now). I'm going to start it at $300 and put a reserve at $350. Bear in mind that for me to sell it via Gunbroker, I will need to ship it via FedEx Overnight and I can only ship it to a Federal Firearms Licensed dealer. That said, I'll be asking a flat $30 for shipping and payment to be made via money order or check which needs to be accompanied with a signed copy of an FFL from the dealer to which you'd like the firearm shipped.
Stay tuned, I'll make a separate post when the auction is formally created.
If anyone here is interested, here's a picture of the sidearm.
Feel free to PM me any questions over on the forums.
