Pistol & car update.

Well, after the 5 day auction, looks like my Pistol sold. I'm getting $465 for it, $40 more than I had originally asked on the Buy It Now price. This is a good thing, since my wife's car took $435 to get fixed, inspected, and up to snuff. Though I do believe the rest of the money is going towards picking up John Woo's Stranglehold.

Speaking of my wife's car, a little story. My wife, Wendy, owns a 1991 Geo Prism. The Prism has an oddball engine layout where the transmission fluid dipstick is at the very front of the engine while the oil dipstick is buried way in the back. Since it's her car, I don't regularly check it - although I will be now since it will be our only car - but we did get annual checkups. It turns out that all of the places we've taken the car have been checking the transmission fluid dipstick by mistake when checking oil levels. Wendy is included on this blunder.

So yesterday I get a bug up my ass to check all the engine fluids. It's a damn good thing I did, too.
Oil? Empty. Beyond Empty.
Power Steering Fluid? Empty.

Blah. It's a wonder the car ran. But now it has 4 quarts of oil and a quart of Lucas' Oil Stabilizer and a quarter of a bottle of power steering fluid. Now the car runs like a champ. Today I've got a bug up my ass to check her air filter and tire pressure. If yesterday is any indication, I'm scared to see what the air filter will look like. I'd like to replace the oil filter but.. I'm not that mechanically inclined.

Ah well. In other news, I've officially made a list of games for the rest of the year which I must have or are interested in but are not high priority.
The list is as follows:
My must own games of 2007:
Blue Dragon (fully preordered), Halo 3 (fully preordered), Ace Combat 6, Guitar Hero 3, Project Gotham Racing 4

Games I'm interested in, but not high priority for 2007
Halo Wars, Half-Life 2: The Orange Box, Mass Effect, Stranglehold, Beautiful Katamari, Bioshock.

Chances are, with the extra money from the sale of the pistol, I'll get Stranglehold and with the money I'm getting for selling parts of my old car for scrap, I'll either get Bioshock or fully preorder one of my "must own" list.

@SixTGunR and RIGHT_WINGAMER: It was a Colt 1991 Series 80 .45 ACP that was my late father's. He left it to me when he passed on, but my interest in shooting dwindled since he passed because it was something he and I would do as a father-son thing. He had added a beaver tail and a better aftermarket trigger to it and took near obsessive-compulsive care of it. Since he died, I took care of it just as much as he did, but, by and large, it just sat around here. I auctioned it off at Gunbroker.com, the only site I knew of. *sigh* I'm such a noob. You can see a picture of it here: http://members.cox.net/vreynauld/2o2p/gunbroker001.jpg

Whoops, forgot one.. @MikeJames: I dunno, I'm a sucker for the Ace Combat series. I'm not buying the super expensive edition with the flight stick, however. Though I'm forced to wonder if I'd buy it at all if I still had my old copy of Air Force Delta storm for the Xbox 180.

blue dragon over eternal sonata? blue dragon looked nice, but the battles grew old to me fast, and the story (the little bit in the demo) totally reminded me of lame-ass saturday morning anime-style cartoons. eternal sonata's battles on the other hand seem to involve a bit more strategy and intervention on your part. I haven't seen much of the plot and acting, but it seems to be a more intelligent story.

@Jedi_Kez: I just couldn't get into Eternal Sonata. And believe me, I tried. I played the demo to death. I think, maybe, it was because as a "free moving" RPG, I expected it to be a little more like Rogue Galaxy's system on PS2. I dunno. As for Blue Dragon, I'm a sucker for turn based RPGs. The demo was a little disappointing, but I feel the reason for that is because they overdid our characters. There was little to no challenge because they had given us too much stuff. I don't honestly believe we're going to have such powerful spells on ALL our characters by the mid-30s. I have a feeling that when we get to the places we got to see on the demo in the actual game, we're going to have maybe half what they gave us in the demo.
