1200 - Well we made it off the Upper Ms rvr and now are on the Lower, we passed through Cairo IL around 1130 this morning. No scrapes, bumps or crashes. We had a near miss with another boat that was north bound and as we met we got alittle too close for comfort, but other than that and the occasional pleasure craft getting in our way it was a 'lazy trip down the mighty mississip'.

Lots of rain! If you live in Missori, Illinois or Louisiana you know what I mean. Supposed to keep right on rainin too, yeah :(
Not much I can do but keep on keepin on. Getting closer to the day I get off for leave! 10 more days, Woot,Woot! Looking forward to our family camp trip and seeing my parents who live in Florida, it's been a while.

Found out today that our tug maybe heading up the Ohio river next, that's gonna be great. We all love that river as it's very wide and usually deep this time of year, and the leaves are changing so the scenery will be nice too. The next big city we pass through will be Memphis TN and that should be sometime noonish tomorrow.

Hey Cap! I got a request. What are the different whistles? I remember a teacher telling us about how different whistles meaning different things, i.e. pass on the right (I mean starboard) but forgot long ago what was what? And do you ever get in disagreements with other boats?

Honk your horn when you get near Ohio as a way of saying "Hi!" I'll be listening...:)
