Fall Time and Chalk

It's that time of year when I need a new theme for my chalk board. Fall is right around the corner and I can feel it in the air. Gotta love Fall!

I had a chalk board when I was a tike. My mom would leave all kinds of drawings and sayings on it for me. Well, it has turned into a big thing in my family. Now, I have the official chalk board. With every season change, the board gets a new drawing, sometimes just sayings, or what ever the heart fancies. My mom started this tradition and now a few other family members have followed along for the fun.

One year I drew a Yoshi at the bottom of the board, and now he's a permanent fixture. Yoshi licks everything that the picture drawing might represent for the season. So, if it's Christmas, Yoshi is wrapping his tongue around a Christmas tree. It might be drawings of a duck, horse, candy cane, pumpkin, snowman (the candy cane was Yoshi's fave), butterfly, even a house.

I'm going to paint one of my office walls with the chalk board paint. If you have kids, this is something they will love. For a $15 gallon of chalk board paint, you can create some fun times and memories. Be sure to take pictures of your little ones art work! You can paint any wall with it. Make it as big or as small as you like. The only problem I've found with this is the chalk dust, but a quick sweep with a hand-vac is all that's needed. Or if you have carpet on the floor, cover it with an old sheet. You can buy really good chalk with lots of colors at any good art supply store.

My own chalk board brings a smile to my face every morning I walk into my kitchen.View Image

Now, I'm NO artist, so remember that. Here are some of my silly little chalk board drawings over the years.

Those are beautiful! Good idea to take pics of your drawings.\r \r I still have my little chalkboard too - says \"Claire's Board\" on the top. LOL\r \r I wonder if my kids will miss out on anything by not having their own. I think I might have an excellent Santa Present in mind!\r \r Thanks Char!

Geeze, the best I can do is stick figures. That's a great idea...as long as I'm not the one drawing.
