Harvest Moon Girl

Wanted to share some new lemon tree pictures. It lost all of it's little lemon buds, but one. He's hanging in and growning. The tree is growing too. I even got a water temp thing to check to see when it needs water. Everytime I check the tree I hold my breath in hopes the little lemon is still haning on.

Learning about growning herbs. Basil needs more shade than sun. Oregano, mint, and thyme love the sun and grown fast like weeds. Peppers are the gift that keeps on giving....heh eh

Found another tomato at the bottom of the plant (that makes three total!) I didn't see it at first. It's off the same plant as the yellow one, but is more orange color. I cut into the yellow one. It smelled so good and tasted even better. I didn't know a tomato could taste like that. If I can grow this stuff, anyone can.

Now, for the big news (at least for me) my dad came over a few weeks ago and he killed the grass. Now I can have a bit bigger garden. Next is tilling the ground, then added some topsoil, and some kind of border. I can't wait.

Caesar, maybe next year I'll have watermelons too! and eggplant; and pumpkins!!!; and beans; and asparagus (sp); and cabbage...oh my!

Basil going crazy, even in a pot.

\"Killed the grass\"?? I don't like the sound of that. If he used poison, that stays in the soil and can affect anything you try to grow there in the future. It would have been better to just dig it up.

that's what they said to do at the garden center....Well, what should I do now...if I put alot of topsoil maybe???? The garden guy said if we kill the grass now, by spring the poison will be gone.

I checked yesterday and i could only find 2 small lemons on our meyers we planted this year. The Mandarins are another story they are a few years old and full of small fruit.\r We missed our lemon tree from our last house so we planted one this year.We could get fruit almost year round on our last tree.We love lemon chicken and I like lemon in my tea. We had to put our mandarins in the ground.I tried growing them in half wine barrels but they just didnt do well.
