Man...I have got to get better at this Blogging thing. My last post was 6/29. Now mainly, my absence has been due to not really having anything to say about ...well much of anything. But it's been almost a month and I can't let July turn by without posting something. A lot has happened...none of it important...since my last post. We lost a Major media Icon, Walter Cronkite. Some dude in North Carolina shot a guy in the head while he was riding his bike....and the guy is a firefighter...and is still on the payroll...after shooting someone in the head. http://www.wyff4.com/news/20187786/detail.html# Show of hands...who would loose their job after that? Yeah, I would too. Senate endorses Sotomayor today...which my conservative friends say is a very bad thing. I know very little about any of her views, stances, or why I too should feel the weight of an impending bad thing. Perhaps some of you could enlighten me on this? I know my friend's views, but he's so far right he's off the map and I generally just tune him out.
Let's see, what else....hmmm...Sarah Palin acting the fool on national TV. Gotta love that shit. I'm not a political person by any means of the phrase, but seriously...lady...just give it up. You lost; you look like a raving red neck lunatic. Just go quietly into the wilderness. Hmmmm....OH! 40 years since man landed on the Moon, that's something. Nothing like an anniversary to get people interested in something again. Love when that happens. "Hey did you know it's been 40 years since we did that thing?" Then before you know it there are commemorative plates, stamps, interviews, Documentaries, IMAX shows...all manner of Hoopla...over what? Over something a select few members of the general public have given two shits about in a very long time. Hop on the band wagon, it's got new seats y'all!
My girlfriend and I have started watching this show called Obsessed... Holy Fuck. Has anyone watched this show? It’s utterly addicting. I spend half the time trying to discern whether or not these people are just seeking attention or if they genuinely have a mental imparity. Now, before you start flaming it up in the Comments, I am NOT discounting that OCD is a very real and debilitating issue for many people. Soem of the people on this show are out there...like stratosphere out there. I like to satisfy my cravings for schadenfreudejust as much as the next person, but I am starting to genuinely feel sorry for some of these folks. It's not even a matter of pity or anything like that. I t just goes to show you how difficult some people have it and how insignificant my bullshit is. If you haven't checked it out, I recommend trying on an episode or two.
But see with so little going on, and so much of what IS going on being utterly meaningless, July has held little for me to talk about. I could post a ton of Links and such to other places with tons of interesting things...But there are others here who have that covered. I will, however put up the link to the trailer for Ninja Assassin, which looks like a movie full of awesome and chock full of win.
Some new games came out recently. I hear Prototype supposedly kicks lots of ass. I got my hands on Ghostbusters the other day and it was fun for a bit but seemed as though it could get repetitive very quickly. Apparently, sigh, there's a new Madden game coming out. I hear that's a big deal. EA has got this whole sports thing locked up. They get money from these kids every year and they know it’s a guarantee. Tiger Woods, Madden, NHL, NBA, NCAA they know they're getting your money! Sure, I suppose these are a big deal or something if you are all into the sports...I'm not discounting their worth...to you...to me they're worthless. I don't follow sports and matter of fact, what I do know about football and its players comes from playing these games. Yeah I know that's a flag on the field and 10 point deduction of Manpoints. So be it. But hey, who knows, maybe I can get into Sports. I saw a demo fro a Cricket game last night...or a game about a cricket...I couldn't tell, I didn't look that close.
New DLC for Gears 2. Awesome! I'm sure someone will be getting that. New DLC for Fallout 3 coming soon. Something about a mother ship...or some shit. Downloaded Point Lookout and it's a lot of fun. However, it doesn't deliver on the items front as some of the others did...although the Double Barrel is fucking awesome. Point Lookout is entertaining though and far more challenging than the usual harshities afforded to you by the wasteland. I also picked up some of my old games, such as Soul Calibur 4, Fable 2, and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. I really missed playing those as it turns out...especially Soul Calibur. Then again, playing this just makes me even more anxious for Tekken to come out.
Well, team, that about wraps it up for me and more than likely for July. I apologize that the above ramblings was all I could produce this month. July truly has been a bitch. I can also make no promises that August will be any better. I moved my computer downstairs the other night so maybe I will be on a little more in the non working hours and can produce soem more meaningful (yet still mildly retarded) words for you to read. So, in closing, Thanks for checking in, and thanks for stopping by, and I'm really sorry that the above was the best I could produce this month.
Cheers, and have a great fucking day,
Chet Chesterson
