Hatemail

I nearly sent my first ever hatemail last night playing Bad Company 2. I was playing with some friends of friends who have literally just started playing. Thats fine I have no problem with that at all. The problem was we were in a conquest game in Atacama Desert. When we spawned in the other team had both choppers. One guy was rank 46 and we didnt manage to take him down once the entire game.  Ok, it didnt help that my team were inexperienced but I just got really angry with getting spawn killed by the same guy. I ended up 13-14 getting killed 8 times by the chopper. Is it really that much fun to fly around for half an hour and shit on a bunch of guys just learning the game? Dont answer maybe it is. Anyway I resisted the urge to mail the guy because obviously that would just acknowledge hes pretty good anyway.

This is the exact situation that made me stop after the 4th MP game of BF2. The fact that they don't give newbie players ANY way of countering the choppers is complete shite!

Things like this are precisely why I don't typically get involved with competitive multiplayer. Shit just makes me too angry, and I like to use games as my stress decompression method. However, co-op mp is the bee's knees.

Do what I do Ciaran. I have found that in the time it takes to respawn you can make the person that killed you an "avoided player" I do that to all spawn campers. You may not have so many opponents to chose from on a quiet night but you do get a better class of enemy.

I've been in that situation so man times. I've quit the game, stopped took a breath, jumped back in and went at it. Then I figured out the key. Your squad, I realize you can't always get a squad, or get away from the spawn campers. However try to spawn a squadmate that's away from that maddness, or if you are unlucky enough not to have a squad. Wait about ten seconds after your respawner timer is up. They will probably went after some poor soul and you can move out.
