Hi again all. Its funny my last blog entry was written in English and didn’t get one comment. The one before that which was written in Irish, no-one could understand it and it got nine comments. What does that say about people?
Back to gaming. I finished the Modern Warfare single player a couple of nights ago and I have to say I was impressed. This was the first COD game I have ever played so maybe I don’t have much to compare it with but I certainly enjoyed it. Sometimes you don’t have a whole lot to do, but it’s all about the experience. I can see why some people are comparing to a movie experience. Ultimately though isn’t that why we play games, for a good time? I started playing the single player again last night on hardened and one thing I can see is that second time around when you take a closer look at the graphics they aren’t so impressive.
Something that I’m not happy with in the game is the lack of the ability to play Special Ops with a random online partner. Most of my friends have MW2 but it can be hard to get them to play when you want, and what happens in a few months when the number of people playing wanes? I have to say I loved the ability to play co-op on Gears at any time and I found it a great way to meet new people.
Something else I’ve been playing recently is Tetris. My all time favourite game. I just got a new mobile phone and it came preinstalled on it. It’s essentially the DS version and it’s a great way to fill in a few minutes. Question of the day; bearing in mind the hype it had, will people still be playing and enjoying MW2 in 20 years like they are still playing Tetris? (ps the answer isn’t yes!)
