360 Slim is great

So last week I went to a Microsoft technical event for developers. They usually give away swag at these things, and the big prize is always a 360. I never win anything at these things ever, until last week, when out of 4 total prizes, I won the 360 Slim. That's about the best thing to happen to me since I got married, and since the birth of my two boys.

I'm kidding, but it is up there in my personal moments of greatness.

Anyway if you're wondering whether or not to get one, even if you have one that's in good shape, get one anyway. First of all, its a thousand times quieter. I'm not exaggerating. It hardly makes a sound when you have a disc in it. But with a 250 GB HDD you have no business playing games off the disc anyway, unless you have to (like Halo 3).

The other cool thing I like is the touch sensitive tray and power buttons. I spent a couple minutes trying to push the button and wondering why it wasnt providing any resistance, until I realized that you can pretty much tap or swipe the button lightly and it does its thing with a little "boo-beep" sound.

The fact that there is no transfer cable included (or at least a redemption coupon inside for those who need one) is a huge kick in the balls. I transferred everything with 2 8GB thumbdrives. Slow, but not so miserable that I'd spend up to $20 on a transfer cable that I'll use just once. And the fact that they are still not including HDMI cables reeks of cheap.

But overall you cant go wrong with it. Glad I dont have to buy one now. :P

Congrats! I'm the same way with contests like that - never have won a thing. I still have a reason to keep hope alive. :) Also, *wave* from Lake Norman (Mooresville), NC!
