As I have gotten older, I have noticed something in life.
You are going to lose twenty dollars.
Yep, you're going to lose twenty dollars, and it will bother you. You will be aggravated, maybe angry at your carelessness, or just bummed. But, at some point in your life, you'll find twenty dollars. Not that life perfectly washes out, but I try to remember this when little things happen. More importantly, I need to appreciate when accidents of good fortune happen to me.
Here is my grand cosmic list:
You will lock yourself out of your car at least three times in your life.
You will think you locked yourself out five times, but realize the keys are in your pocket.
You will have five flat tires. You will avoid dozens.
You will have two true broken hearts. You will break two.
You will miss a flight.
Your alarm clock won't work on four occasions. You will be glad it didn't work two of those times.
You will be deeply embarrassed once. Then you learn to deal with it.
Feel free to add to list, c
