For the past year or so I've only seen 4 birds at most. This time around, I've counted at least 9. I've been wondering why so many have shown up this year. I'm wondering if there is a lack of food for them this time around. We did have hurricane Ike roll through last year. Maybe it knocked out most of their food so they are having to rely on my feeders. I'm not complaining though. It's nice to see all the birds with their vivid coloring. My favorite is one with a jade green back. It tends to sparkle in the sunlight. He is a newcomer. Another one I like is one with a red neck but he's the bully of the bunch and has been around for a while. Usually one bird will guard one feeder and fight off all the others. This morning I found at least 5 fighting and even sometimes sharing this one feeder. I've never seen so many fight and share one feeder like this. It was a neat sight. I managed to get some video of it to share with everyone. The quality of the video isn't the best. Since I don't have an actual digital video recorder, I used my digital camera which has a movie mode. Hope you like it.
