If you have read my last blog you’ll know that things are crazy at work right now. New fire chief started on Monday and so far all is well with that. He has not taken the grand tour to all the stations yet, it maybe will be on Thursday or Friday. Well I did get to meet him on Tuesday and again all is well so far……

Funny incident today 10/18/06

While my rookie partner and I were returning from a run at a local apartment complex we heard a weird noise coming from the bottom of the truck, like we were dragging something. I rolled down my window to see sparks flying around and hear a loud noise. As I started to tell him what I saw he got very nervous……remember he is a probie…..and when you are on probation your first year on the department it looks real bad on your evaluations when you damage a rescue squad or fire truck. Needless the say he was very “freaked out”.

Well it was pretty funny when we pulled over and found that it was just the muffler dragging on the ground. The Engine was right behind us returning from the call at the apartments and pulled over to see what was going on. As they got out and saw me under the truck they all started laughing. We got the probie calmed down and returned to the station. It was a good laugh and we took pictures for future use……
