How much more bad news can we handle??

How long til we all start to panic like Chicken Little, if we haven't already?

I'm starting to feel fatigued by the news. So much so to the point where I don't want to watch, read, or hear any news from the world around me. I don't necessarily feel like I'm in a denial mode but I just don't want to have to see the misery we're all rocketing toward at breakneck speed. I have been lucky (so far) that I have kept my job amongst layoffs. But with news today of  Home Depot laying off x thousand people and Caterpillar losing x millions and laying off to Icelands government failing under economic failure...shit!!!!! And that's just from todays headlines. Everyday it's another major corp doing the same shit to thousands of people. When does someone step in and say ENOUGH! Yes it's a pipe dream but it's my pipe dream.

I wish the media would give us something, anything positive to lift our spirits and hope that things are going to get better soon. I don't want them to bullshit us either but damn if we don't all need something positive to start happening to lift our spirit. Even if just a little for a little while. I feel horrible that so many are losing their jobs, so many are losing their homes and it just seems like a never ending vicious circle that we're in and noone seems to have the solution to the problem at the moment. I realize that the government is "trying" to fix or help reverse the downturn but it's not enough. I wish I had the answer.

If i can pay my bills, take care of my wife and daughter...life is good! I don't let outside nastiness leak into my life. I just do the best I can, with whatever I can, and try to have as much fun doing it!

Turning it all off may be just what's needed. The news org. continue to over hype and pound us over the head with this stuff 'cause they assume (and probably correctly) that doing so will attract more eyeballs for their advertisers. I wouldn't want them to stop reporting actual facts, but if more people would turn the channel instead of tuning in for 24/7 bloviating, there'd probably be less of it.

I haven't watched the news in forever. The only positive thing that's happened is Obama taking office. But that's just positive potential, we'll have to see how it pans out.
