Shared on Mon, 07/10/2006 - 19:58 Today, after getting my truck out of the shop, I was surfing the radio stations. Its always the same thing, a bunch of mindless dribble. I did catch the tail end of some Styx, but thats not what this is about. I get to 90.4 FM and I hear a mandolin and banjo getting played so I decided to stop. I was thinking to myself, "Alright they are playing some Bluegrass; maybe a few people up here do know what good music is." I almost instantly recognize the song as "Blue Moon of Kentucky." As the next verse comes up I start to sing along, but what I sing didnt match. Thinking that I was on the wrong verse I listen to figure out where it was. The lady was singing in Chinese. No wonder I was lost. As it turned out, the station is playing chinese country, western, and bluegrass covers. I didnt know what to say so I just listened. I heard Wabash Cannonball, I was Country before Country was Cool, Elvira, Moaning the Blues, and a few other sang in Mandarin. You should have seen the looks I was getting from other motorists. I never knew mountain music was poplular in other countries.
