Mid-life crisis? . . . not yet

My wife went to a wedding this weekend and I elected to stay home with my three sons.  The wedding was a "no kids" event and we couldn't find a babysitter in the Bakersfield, where the wedding was held.

The time with the kids was great, but it made me realize that they are growing up so damn fast.  Everyone always says that time flies and it sure seems like it does.

I look in the mirror and see some of the signs of change . . . hey where did my hair go?  I get a few aches and pains from past surgeries (knee and shoulder).  But inside I still feel like the kid I once was.  I love to play with my kids and interact with their toys.  Watching them get excited about things and seeing their imaginations in action really takes me back.  It is great to be with them, but sometimes I sit back and think "Wow, I have three kids and wife!  When did this all happen?"

I'm 34 and in good health and God willing this is not the half way point of my life.  I can see how people can have a "mid-life crisis" though.  You can't get too caught up in the thinking that tells you that you are (in my case) half way to 70.  It is hard not to think about it and you do need to evaluate your life from time to time, but none of us are promised the next day and life can change in an instant.

The best thing we can do is try and live each day to the fullest and be a positive influence on those around us.  This is easier said than done, but the alternative is wasting the precious time that we do have here (sorry if this post is getting too sappy).  I'm thankful for the life I have, my kids, my wife, my health, and even my 2old2play clan mates and friends.

Nice blog King I need to get off my butt and do the same. I turn 40 next month my wife and I within the past year lost her dad and my mom. So life is short take the time to reflect tell the people you love that you love them. At 40 I can safely say I am at mid life or pretty close. I still feel young inside but the mirror and my motrin intake tell me different. Like my mom always said live each day as if it were your last. I try but thats a hard one to follow. Thanks for sharing the pics of the boys it looks like you have yor hands full. Take care and god bless.
