You know you think my tractors are sexy!

I was driving around yesterday and thought I would share some of what is going here right now. . . and this is the time we consider to be slow!

 

Deep Ripping

One pass tillage

90' spray boom

Corn harvest

Final product

Tomatoes - these are where your paste, ketchup, pasta sauce, pizza sauce, etc come from.

25 tons of tomatoes

Melon harvest - back breaking work

Mobile packing

Nice Cotton, I saw your shameless plug. So here I am. Im gonna come visit your farm some day. Looks like the $$$$ is rolling in on the farm.

You are welcome any time. This season is going well, but with farming you put out a lot of $$$$ to grow the crops. One mistake or act of Nature and you can lose a lot.

Hey, management is tough! I had to ride around and take pictures . . .and then my finger started to hurt. Actually, I do get on a tractor every once and a while, but as time has gone on I have less and less time for it. It is nice to be able to get out of the office and tear things up with a tractor when you need to blow off steam. @ keelanos: I don't know why the decorations started, but some crews like to do it. These are hired contract pickers, so they are not my guys.

heeeey! wait one minute! look close at the melon harvest pic again. Between the two mexican flags they are flying Old Glory UPSIDE DOWN. wtf! sorry cant let that one slide.

Gotcha, it must be a morale booster. Instead of casual Friday, it's balloon Thursday.
