Ah, sweet mortality

Today is the first day I feel rested enough to enter the world back as my old, ass self.

Last weekend was my call weekend.  On call from Saturday 7am to Monday 7am.  In the midst of being called in to work at Godforsaken hours, my Grandfather seized.

Here's the lowdown, Gramps is widowed with 2 daughters, only one having a child.  I'm the only child.  Only grandchild.  No cousins.  Big pressure to reproduce. 

Anyway, after checking in with my Ma, I go back into work till 1am Sunday, get home, hit the hay, get back at work by 830 and 2 hrs later my mom calls work histerallically crying, Gramps had a syncopal episode when standing.

I leave and head the 45 mins to his hospital.

I spend the day with him, help clean him.  Watch him take a nap.  I leave flowers, tell him I love him in French, kiss him on the forehead and leave.

I had just fallen asleep at 11 that night, my mother calls, he died.

The seizures were from his poor cardiac output.  He had a heart attack at 11pm. 

I can't bear to look at the pics of him in his new tux for my October wedding.  He did however buy me my wedding dress. WHICH will be properly paid for storage after my wedding.  Today is the first day I can be functional.  I've slept alot.

Work gave me the week off, but I need to return tomorrow, because his burial plot next to my Grandmother (dc 2001) is in Tampa FL and Duching and I need to head there next week.

Alls psychologically better for the COULOW now, and blogging is an egocenterics way of letting out some steam. 

I've got nothing left to say.  The body is organic, it eventually can't hold up forever.  Just terribly sad that a soul has to move on and you can't spend time with them...of course prayer works....
