The idiots come out.  So, admist the fact that homegirl Coulow has now prestiged...AGAIN, yay level 2 on COD4 (and btw, am now a 6. Yee fucking haw), the idiots came out to play.  I got friend requests from assholes, AND some douchebag called me a fucking lesbian.  Not only in the game itself, BUT in a voice message too.  Yes, complaint sent.  The bastard also sent a voice message asking to be in our clan.  What the fuck.


 


You know, it's tough enough being a player.  I believe that there is a female gamer stereotype.  I try to not raise my voice, I try not to make "girly" comments, I try everything my DAMNDEST to not stick out like a woman player, and I STILL get harassed about it.


 


Imagine this, your wife, girlfriend, daughter is playing a game and is being harrassed.  Imagine that.  Your little girl is, well, not doing too bad (I succeeded him in kills) and your little girl gets called a fucking dyke, go kill yourself, eat shit and die.


Would that not bother you?


 


Tough skin is needed in gaming.  For all of us.  We all talk shit.  And I did tell my boyfriend duching about the event.  He had just come home.  He was upset.  Duh.  I decided to not play again over the weekend unless he was in the game with me.


 


I needed SOMEONE to atleast back me up and not laugh at the comments.  It's not just comments.  I get the full harrassment most of the time.  VM, FR, Spamming.


 


So.  Another day of gaming on silent.

It's not enough to just turn a blind eye though. Everyone has to condem this behaviour. That means everyone, guys incl. You don't have to be a kerk: just say \"dude, not right...\" when someoen sexually harasses someone on line. Or is a racist fuckwad, or whatever.\r \r

Thanks y'all. It just something that is still happening out there.\r \r I did kick his ass in the game. Terrible K/D ratio. Not that being better at a game condones that type of behavior, but C'MON.\r \r Racist remarks, Sexual Harrassment. How sad. Just because I'm a girl, or someone is, what's the PC way, \"naturally tan\" doesn't mean they suck ass at gaming.\r \r Let's go kill some losers.

You raise an important issue. I thought Live was bad enough as an adult male, and never considered how it must be for a woman. I sympathise - sometimes negative rep. and filing a complaint just seems so ineffectual. It doesn't calm your anger, and you will never get to see te result, if any, of your actions.I hope the dickwads don't take away most of your gaming pleasure.
