The Urus also promises lightweight construction both inside and out, and will be "considerably lighter" than its competitors; the body will feature a height adjustable front spoiler that allows obstacle clearance, but also stability at high speed when lowered. There's another adjustable spoiler at the back to better aid aerodynamics and handling, and you only need to look at the X6 and those of it's ilk to know amazing feats of cornering are possible in an SUV. Oh, and speaking of the X6, the Urus sits 4955mm long, 1996mm wide and 1660mm high, versus the Beemer's 4877mm/1983mm/1690mm.
It's a strict four-seater inside, with that famous Lamborghini obsession for lightweight carbon fibre manifesting itself through flexible CF bucket seats and a central CF tunnel only partially clad in leather. There are touchscreens on the centre dash and for the rear passengers, while the driver gets a freely programmable TFT screen behind that funky steering wheel.
Prices are expected to sit between the Gallardo and Aventador, so around £150k and you're about there. And be under no illusion as to how it will sell: for reference, the Cayenne has rung the Porsche cash registers so comprehensively, the company can afford to make the new 911 quite possibly the most complete sportscar on sale today. So yes, the Urus will probably sell lots. Lamborghini has identified the USA, Middle East, Russia, China, Germany and us Brits as core buyers, with an expected 3,000 being sold each year.
