Blizzard for the fans?

 I have mixed feelings. The new expansion for WoW will take us to Pandaria, give us the Pandaren as a playable race and add a new class called the Monk.

As far as the Monk goes, I guess there will be not much surprise. You can be a character that does martial arts and looks like a sect-member. I can already see the first Monk on Earthen Ring called Aang... Maybe I should start an Ice-mage called Katara, (by lack of water-bending powers), though my absolute favorite character in Avatar is the Fire-bender Azula. At least I got that gut-feeling that ER will be dragged low by Avatar role-players when this expansion goes life. Call me crazy.

Adding the Pandaren as a race has been a long voiced plea on the blizzboards. It was only a matter of time. I'm not holding my breath. I did that for the Worgen and they are downright stupid. Looking at what Blizz gave us, I can't for the life of my fathom why I was so stoked for the Worgen. Maybe it has to do with the terribly overdone "Dynamic Quest" idea, that effectively locks you out of everybody on the server because they're not on the same tier in the quest-chain as you.

The screenshots for Pandaria gave me a huge Nelf-vibe. And I didn't spot any bamboo anywhere. Maybe I overlooked it. With only the Monk as a new class though, what's the point of adding another new race? Make way for Pandaren hunters, warriors, rogues, warlocks, shamans... In other words, old news printed on new paper.

When I took out an account years ago, I was bummed by the fact that humans couldn't be hunters and I was forced to choose between Nelfs or Dwarves. I selected Nelfs and didn't regret that at all. I could be a hunter and I was happy. I even got caught in with the Nelf-lore and was a member of a Heavy Lore RP-guild for about a year. Then the Draenei came and I was sold. Awesome race with the best class in the game (flame me! LOL) made me a happy camper for the last three years.

I totally forgot about the humans, and even when rolling alts I didn't return to check them out. I was a Draenei now.

Anyway, after deleting my Worgen hunter because my repulsion finally won over my stubbornness, I didn't wanna roll a Draenei. Azuremyst, Bloodmyst... PLEASE!!! Deliver me from those two islands... And I'm totally against rolling a Kalimdor race and then take the first boat to Stormwind to do the Eastern Kingdom quests. So I clicked human with half a mind of dabbling with a warrior while thinking up excuses to get away with being DPS in groups. (As opposed to being type-cast as a Tank. I hate tanking.) I noticed that Humans can be hunters now.

I had to wait 6 years, but there it is. The human hunter. I'm very, very happy, even though I'm now stuck on the Eastern Kingdoms. ;-)
