Rockband4Rivals in session report.

Well, okay, I overdid it a little and I'm likely to play a lot more this week as the theme has some awesome bands in the line-up. So next week we'll be struggling in Platinum Tier again if not all of us decide to actually play this week for a change instead of just Big_One and I. Two people that we might as well give the boot for all the good that they do. We'll seriously need them if we're to maintain Platinum next week, but if they don't show up, I'm calling it a day on this bullshit. Otherwise, what's the point? Rivals is all about everybody pitching in to climb the Tiers, not about how good everybody personally is.

The song I had to buy was a cover of 'I'll survive' by a band called 'Cake'. I was actually surprised by the quality of this cover, as the one other song by Cake that I have is 'short skirts/long jackets' and yeah, that's entirely the drivel the title alludes to. 'I'll survive' gave me goosebumps however. I wonder if Cake has made it a point to be as inconsistent as possible with their ouvre. That would make buying their albums a strained value proposition.

The alternative scene for this week wouldn't have been my choice, but it is what the community played the most. I have no problem with it, on the contrary. There's a lot of Killers, Foo Fighters and Smashing Pumpkins left to go in my library and a goldstar/FC'd a lot of songs onbass in this session already. I also played several songs twice. Just because they're good.
