What a total surprise this game is to me. SWTOR is totally not what I expected. When you say MMO to me, I see toons bunnyhopping and spamming useless nonsense and idling in doorways. It usually requires me to cut through layers of bullshit to get to the game, while SWTOR provides an immersive experience from the get-go. I'm fully planning on savoring this until the inevitable expansion shenanigans begin and the beginning of the end is marked. (waaaah!! new class pwns my consular in warzones!) I have started play as female Bountyhunter called Miffis. Before you congratulate me on my Star Wars true name there, it is actually me conceding the fight with the random name generator. For a good five minutes I sat there clicking for an awesome name and then it happened, the generator gave me the most awesome name ever: "Dope". I was elated. The reason I wanted a randomly generated name is because I wanted to avoid rolling yet another Hakima (I'm addicted to that name for some reason) and also to avoid joining the ranks of the less creative. I have seen names from BSG, ST-DS9 and even some hentai-suspects and there will be lots water gone under the bridge before one of my toons walks around with a douchebag sign. "Dope", as suggested by the random name generator, would have been rightly defendable! The game wouldn't allow it however and bummed, I accepted the very next name the random name generator gave me; "Miffis". I play her as a total bitch and she scares the pants off of everyone she meets. My first session was good and enjoyable and I'm looking forward to adding quite a few sessions more.
WoW
Still dropping in every now and then, I have deleted all my toons the other day. I was looking at them and was like: "WTF bullshit crap"; it's just that playing the same toons for years on end kinda grates on me. A total pruning was needed. I have rolled a new Draenei Hunter and am now experiencing the Cataclysm from a fresh new perspective. I have set myself some extra goals, like trying to get as many achievements on one toon as I can. Not having a fleet of toons anymore is a liberating experience, though I have offended friend and foe alike by not sharing the wealth before I toonicided my account. Kinda makes me wonder, why do they think they are entitled to my stuff in the first place? It boggles the mind.
PSU
PSU is my fall back MMO. Ovber the last five years I returned there time and time again to break away from WoW and general gaming. It's hard to take PSU seriously as it really is nothing more than a soda&popcorn game where you constantly bump into other people. But get in there with 2 or 3 long-since friends and you'll have a blast. Three femtoons (with at least two closely resembling lolicons) in skimpy bikinis complete with cameltoes and anime hairdo's toting big ass weapons? WIN! It's so refreshing to see that there was a time in America where "partial nudity" could be taken to extremes without the ESRB declaring war the next minute. Really guys, what happened to you in the last five/six years? Anyway, PSU is the only game where I play a healer/buffer/debuffer (acrotecher). She is maxed class/skill with the best gear possible so all that's left is to get her to lvl180. I'm not in a hurry. As long as there is PSU, there's time.
