First, Gears of War is incredible, but many of you know that already. It really sets a new bar in regards to the 360 and what it can do. Lets hope other developers take the time to do such incredible work. Mass Effect looks like the same type of thing - really using the 360 to its potential.
We finally broke down and bought a fake christmas tree last weekend. We've always bought a real one, but every year the price goes up and the tree dies really quickly. Every year we've looked at the fake ones, and never bought because they didn't look real enough. This year, we found a GE fake tree that looks absolutely real. It was expensive - $350, but it looks great. Of course, our 3 year old wanted it up, so we have a tree in the living room without decorations.
I've been thinking about getting a Wii for the family christmas present. Mainly for more "family" games that my wife, son and I can play together. I bought Viva Pinata, but Ben doesn't really like watching the pinatas. He loves the Lego Star Wars games. I thought maybe he could handle the Wii sports stuff. Rayman Raving Rabbits looks cool too, but then it is supposed to also be on the 360. I was never really happy with my Gamecube, so I'm pretty hesitant to buy the thing if it looks like crap on a 42" LCD tv, but if the games are fun for the family and Ben can handle it, I guess it would be worth the money.
The Halo 40 year old tourney is tonight, I'll be doing that as usual. I haven't really played Halo in maybe 2 weeks, so I guess I'll be getting my ass kicked.
