THROWBACK SATURDAY MORNING

So I'm about a week away from closing principal photography on the documentary, and yes its drawn out way larger than what I originally envisioned. And while it is still a message combating the internalized messages we use to further divide us, the commentators have taken on such a right-leaning conotation, my fear is that it will be labeled a piece of right wing propoganda. Honestly, when I say everyone (and I measure my words carefully), who was on the left of these issues either flat out turned me down, or asked for, stipends, honorariums, per diems and other forms of back-end compensation. Not one contributor from the other side of the aisle asked for one penny. So with that the list of expert contributors is as follows:

Thomas Sowell, Shelby Steele, Ward Connerly, John Mcwhorter, Jesse Lee Peterson, Darryl James, Earl Ofari Hutchinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Bill Cosby, Mychal Massie, Armstrong Williams, Juan Williams, Steve Perry, Alvin Poussaint, Dick Gregory, Joseph C. Phillips, John Ridley, Ronald Walters, Michael Steele and probably a few others I've left out (oops did I say left?). Anyway my money says that if you can recognize 3 or more of these people you are probably reading conservative books, conservative radio or something of that nature. What disturbs me as I have moved through urban areas in cities from NY, Chicago, Atlanta, LA, and of course DC, no one in the african american community can recognize more than two. These gentlemen represent probably the top 5 minds in the black community and nobody knows them. It's a damn conspiracy I tell you (smile), but it is a travesty that as quickly as black people can name Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Michael Dyson, or Cornell West (all lefties), they can not think of one counterbalance to the thought leaders of today. Anyway I'm rambling, reason for my post today.? Getting ready to assemble final trailers for the film and went back and looked at this while constructing story board, and reminisced over the old glory days (not only winning the tourneyts but assembling some pretty decent vids as well), Ah what I would give for the days when life was much simpler!
