The eyes are going...

My son and I recently took up the hobby of collecting baseball and football cards.  I had purchased a couple lots of Milwaukee Brewers cards on eBay and last night, we were sorting them by player and by year.  When it came to looking at the back of the cards to determine year, I was really having problems.  It was like having a close-range astigmatism.  I had to keep asking my son, "what year does this say?"

I had Lasik a year and a half ago and went from needing the strongest contacts money can buy to perfect 20/20 vison.  Now, as I creep closer and closer to 40 years old, I'm realizing that I probably am not that far away from requiring reading glasses...

Isn't Lasik somewhat temporary vision correction? Your eyes age, you have lasik to make they 'younger' but they still continue to age. Although almost needing to go back to have it done again in a year and a half is quicker than I would expect . BUT the body does start to fall apart mid to late 30's and it's a downhill slide from there

@TANK - The lasik I got was for near-sightedness (myopia and astigmatism). They shouldn't deteriorate further in that respect. But I was told going in that regardless of whether I continued to wear contacts or if I went with Lasik, I'd be wearing reading glasses by my mid 40's.
