First day of school

Today is the first day of school in this neck of the woods.  My once solitary 6am run is no longer so solitary.  The neighborhood is now bustling with activity as parents get their kids outside to get on their school busses.

The first day of school hits me with a mixture of emotions.  On the one hand, I'm filled with pride as my children continue to grow.  On the other hand, it reminds me that they're just going to keep getting older and that one day, the first day of school will mean them moving out of the nest.

Continuing the underwater theme, I drew some coral tubes to practice my shading and shadows.  In the future, I think I could do something like this with a MC Escher twist to it.
