Following up to my blog below, I will soon be "beta testing" the forthcoming book by Mark Kistler which is designed to teach adults how to draw/cartoon in 3D. Before watching Mark's show, The Imagination Station, I was pretty much limited to drawing stick figures. I've done a handful of his TV lessons, and attended one of his "art camps" this summer with my kids. Going forward, I will post in my blogs some of the drawings I've made so far, and once I start doing the actual lessons for the book, I'll post those as well.

So, here is one of my first drawings...

Oh you need to write some kind of backstory for this character.

Cool! That's really neat and the shading really has an impact on it. Next thing we know, you will be a published artist!

I remember "Commander Mark" from PBS back in the day... good to know he's still around.

@dkhodz -- yep, it's "Commander Mark" from The Draw Squad. He later went on to make The Imagination Station. He's currently trying to work up the funds to do another 86 episodes in spring of 2008.

Dated a girl in HS who looked eerily similar to your character...
