The job hunt begins, kinda

This afternoon, I have my first meeting with Right Management, the placement agency that GE contracts with for the people they lay off.  Today is really just an introduction to the services they offer, which includes resume assistance and a number of classes on things like interviewing skills and salary negotiation.

It's been almost 2 weeks since I've worked out.  I know if I don't get my ass outside this morning and do a couple of miles, it will keep getting easier and easier to sleep in.  So as soon as I'm done with this blog, it will be time to strap on the iPod and lace up the running shoes.

I had probably done a dozen lessons from The Imagination Station about 6 years ago, then essentially didn't draw until I took my kids to Mark Kistler's drawing camp this summer.  This is one of those early drawings.

@ekattan - I was a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Blackbelt. I felt that I was in line for either a Quality Leader role, or some other commercial leadership position.

Isn't it ironic that it was the same Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing type policies that led to your getting let go though? I work for a small metal stamping plant and I hate nothing more than dealing with Six Sigma based bullshit--nothing against you Darth but I hate the whole damn idea.

@MTK - Lean Six Sigma had NOTHING to do with me getting let go. I'd explain it here, but honestly, it deserves an entire blog itself.

Start blogging. I'm QA for a rocket company. fist time in my life i've been in-house support, not make money for the company. Saving it, but I'm not real big on being ancilliary service. Let us know what you saw coming your way, so maybe some of us can see the signs. and Koalas rock! Your skills are definitely improved...
