Parenting vs Being President

Have you ever looked at pictures of the presidents when they are first elected and then compared them to when they're into their second term?  Look at either Bill Clinton or Dubya Bush and they both came into office looking youthful, but 6 or 7 years into their terms, they are completely grey and look like they've aged 20 years.

Yesterday, while organizing some digital photos on my PC, I saw a pic of myself from shortly after my son was born -- so around 6 and a half years ago.  I thought "wow, look at how young I look".  My hair was dark, I was 20-30 lbs lighter, and my face was without any lines -- especially the ones that Bill Cosby call the "scowl lines" you get from being a dad.  I find when I look in the mirror, I'm looking more and more like my dad, who I always thought looked old and angry.

Parenting is a tough job, for sure, but I still wouldn't trade it for anything.

I was looking at a picture the other day. I thought the exact same thing. I looked so much younger 6-7 years ago. I have had a goatee for years. It use to be black. Now it it almost pure white/gray. The lines are there and so is the weight. But like you, I wouldn't trade being a dad for anything.

Ditto, I have a pic on my fridge with my daughter and I sitting on the floor. We both look so young and innocent. Now we both have aged so much, Her, about 4 yrs, me, about 40.
