Question on blog length

Generally, I try to keep my blogs pretty brief.  The reason?  I find when I go to other people's blogs and they have multiple long paragraphs that require me to use the scroll bar to read, I just don't have the attention span for it.  I know this is terrible, because in many situations, these people took the time to compose a blog that is truly sharing a big part of themselves -- either their situation or their perspective.

I've thought about writing a longer blog to share a little more detail on what's going on in my life, but I wonder how many other readers are like me and would see the length and just skip it.  So, for those of you who frequent the blogs, how do you feel about blog length?

Today's picture is from a series we did on Dr. Seuss.  We tried to draw each picture like the sort of thing you'd see in a Dr. Seuss book.

If a blog is interesting and well written I'll read it regardless of length...But if it doesn't capture me pretty quickly, I'm out...\r \r

I tend to get started and then jump to the punchline. So make your first and last paragraphs really stellar! LOL....but yeah, I am with you on the long, long blogs....if I have to scroll down and it is longer than my screen, I probably won't read it all.

I, too, enjoy both long and short blogs. It is easier to read the long ones if you grab my attention early, just like any reading. If I'm reading a book and the story doesn't grab me on the first page, I probably will never finish it. In a blog, it has to be in the first paragraph (or equivalent since some folks don't divide their work into meaningful paragraphs).

Quality over content. If it grabs my attention I will read it all.

Bullet points as of late have been my alternative to slathing a page with boring text.\r \r And less whining. That always helps keep the readers.\r \r Nice Suess-alike!
