UGH!!!

I got an email yesterday from the HR person who has been coordinating the efforts around my interviews with Cooper Power.   In it, she said "I hope you had a wonderful holiday!  I will be in touch as soon as I am able to track down some hiring managers that are on vacation for the holidays."

I emailed back telling her that I would feel bad if she interrupted anyone's vacation on my account, to which she replied "thanks".

Today, while we were out running errands, Cooper called twice -- at 11:22am and 11:48am, but left no message.  The phone number on caller ID was not the building that HR is located in, but rather the building where the hiring manager works.  I tried calling, but got no answer -- a number of businesses have been letting people go home early today due to a winter storm that has already dropped about 6 inches of snow.

So now, I probably will have to go another 5 days wondering was this the verbal offer call or was this the rejection call.

Hold you head up. At least they contacted you at all. Something, if not this will work out soon.

I agree. If it was a rejection they wouldn't try to get in touch with you so persistently. Remain calm.

My experience so far in my job search has been that if they aren't interested, they send an email and thus avoid putting themselves in an uncomfortable situation. That's what I'm hoping here.

That's what it sounds like-they love to avoid the "bad" news notifications by phone. Good luck man.

Poonga - I tried calling the direct lines for both the hiring manager and for HR and it seems that both had gone home for the day due to the weather.
